Benjamin Mutua Kilonzo is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from Kabarak University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, with additional professional certifications in Data Protection and Intellectual Property from Strathmore University’s Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) and Intellectual Property Protection on infringement cases for customs officials from KIPO Academy, Seoul, South Korea.

He has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law in Kenya, where he has advised a wide range of clients on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, incorporation and structuring of business entities, including subsidiaries and holding companies. His work also includes procurement of statutory and regulatory licenses, business permits, and advisory on joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.

At Swanyalaw, he serves as a Litigation Advocate, where he represents clients in diverse disputes with a focus on delivering practical, results-driven outcomes. He has a strong interest in oil and gas law, green energy regulation, and emerging trends in sustainable commercial transactions.

His litigation experience spans commercial transactions, employment and labor relations, land disputes, and family law. Benjamin’s practice also includes policy formulation, contract drafting and review, with expertise in business agreements, commercial contracts, and governance documentation.
